My Journey
I’ve been active for all my years and found that my body wasn’t responding the same way that it used to, to stretching and Yoga for release of tension and restorative practices. My body couldn’t keep up with the activity I wanted to do. Many years of sitting at a desk left me with several chronic pain areas which were preventing me from being as active as I would have wanted to be. I spent a lot of time and money on practitioners to fix me.

A friend introduced me to Yamuna Body Rolling. I really liked the idea of taking control of my body self maintenance. A life changing return to basic mobility! While I was working through my practical assessments required for the practitioner certification, I began to study some more anatomy. December of 2020 I attained my Yamuna body rolling practitioners license and began teaching online group classes.
I still desired for a deeper understanding of the body and what was causing what. So I continued to take Yamuna recertification courses to deepen my understanding. Anatomy U, Yamuna body school, Foot fitness, Back, In Bed and Advanced In Bed.

That itch to know more still not fully scratched. I began researching other modality programs and discovered the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO) through a friend who had started the program. Not knowing much about Osteopathy, I began my own journey through treatment as a patient. An important part of schooling is feeling, as a patient, the changes that are possible.
Again another life changing turn of events for me. Chronic headaches for 10 years melted away after a few months of treatment. A recent hand injury that left me with a trigger finger also resolved after several other modality treatments were ineffective.

I originally thought, lets just see if i can get into the program, this was my challenge. Having come from an accounting background with no experience in health sciences education, this was big for me. A bit of anatomy learning through the body rolling program was enough to get me entrance to the prep program. This was a 6 month course to give some basic Anatomy and Physiology and bring me up to the level of some of the other students. So I figured lets just take this prep course, maybe that will satisfy me, but no I don't think I can do the whole 4 year program. I'll never last (am I too old?).

I graduated from the CAO in April of 2026 with a Masters in Manual practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (MOMSC) . Over 1000 hours of practical experience during the 4 years of the program.

I look forward to helping more people like me who want to stay active and my super active friends bring more balance to their bodies.
